Tour of Small Town Tuscany
June 10-19, 2024
Halfway through our journey together, our home base moves to Val d’Orcia, at a former cloister in Pienza, a small town renowned for being the “Ideal Renaissance City.” The view from our hotel’s terrace has been made famous by an American film, and the city itself offers many intimate opportunities to experience Italy’s “La Dolce Vita.” We continue with more day trips to small villages, such as Montecchiello, San Quirico, Montalcino, and Montepulciano, tastings at exquisite small vineyards, and additional farm-to-table dining, including a sumptuous farewell dinner at the hotel’s terrace restaurant.
We conclude with a day and night in our smallest, oldest, and arguably most exquisite village, Bagno Vignoni. The thermal hot springs of this quaint town were popular with the Ancient Romans and continue to offer unparalleled comfort to those few who know of its remarkable pleasures. A wonderful conclusion to a splendid trip.
Watie White will introduce a drawing and watercolor lesson on location, allowing you to immerse yourself in the artistic process while enjoying the beauty of the surroundings. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, participating in this workshop will undoubtedly expand your skills and inspire your creative journey.
